Welcome to artful adoptee. I am a transracial adoptee, author, pianist. And artist??? Getting there! I also like to imagine that occasionally I sing a song or two on pitch. My parents gave me a record player when I was a little girl. From then on, the music never stopped. I had a hot pink 45 RPM record holder to protect all of my 45’s and quite the collection of 33’s, which ranged from The Sound of Music to ACDC. I started playing the piano when I was eight-years old and eventually studied piano performance in college. I’ve never been formally trained in art, but kept a sketchbook while growing up and started out drawing landscapes with a no. 2 pencil. Wish I still had that sketchbook! Of late, I have taken to art journaling, mixed media, sketching, painting, and most of all exploring and experimenting. This blog is an eclectic collection of what inspires me and a chronicle of my growth as an artist. Cheers, and thanks for dropping in.
